Our focus is the basic research in tissue regeneration and integrity of bone, cartilage and soft tissue. Our research topics span from neuro-immunologic influences on bone and cartilage repair to mechanisms of tumor transformation in squamous epithelial cells.
The Centre of Medical Biotechnology (ger.:Zentrum fuer medizinische Biotechnologie, ZMB) was the last module completing the Biopark Regensburg. In this facility scientists from the university hospital apply their huge knowledge in fields of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Three groups from different disciplines of the university and hospital are working on an area of 500 sqm.
